Are you looking for some fall family-friendly outdoor activities in Central PA? Check out our afternoon at Wildwood Park and Fort Hunter, just minutes away from downtown Harrisburg.
We started at Wildwood and spent some time at the Olewine Nature Center, which included interactive displays, and a children’s discovery area and library. Then we spent a few hours hiking a few of the many trails, including the boardwalk, while discovering lots of native plants and animals along the way.
Then we drove just a few minutes down the road to Fort Hunter Mansion & Park. Fort Hunter is one of our favorite places to go to take in the scenic Susquehanna River. With 40 acres and lots of history to explore, it's sure to be a place you'll come back to again and again.
